Ian Monk Biography

Ian Monk has almost 30 years experience of the media and is a widely respected professional who understands the revolution of new media as well as the power of the old. He is skilled at harnessing their energy to build and enhance reputation and also brings to his clients an instant ability to deliver the influence and insights required for damage limitation and crisis management across all media platforms.

He has been a PR professional for 12 years following a distinguished journalistic career in national newspapers which saw him hold senior editorial posts with the Daily Mail, The Sun and The Daily Express.

He made the switch into PR and crisis management before it became something of a necessity for the hundreds of journalists facing an uncertain future in the face of dramatic job cuts in the print and broadcast media. Many current editors are either his proteges or his contemporaries from his time s in newspapers and he continues to enjoy on behalf of his clients full access to them as well as to many media proprietors.

An enviable network also includes partners at leading law firm, brand consultants and the people running the regulatory bodies - e.g. Press Complaints Commission and Ofcom - responsible for making sure that those who are the subject of potential or actual Press of broadcast items do have a voice either before or after publication or broadcast.
